Christmas and New Year breaks in Ibiza
December in Ibiza between New Year's Eve parties and traditional events like the mercadillo Navideño of Las Dalias.
Ibiza is always worthwhile, in every time of the year. It's easy to imagine it and imagine yourself in a beautiful summer evening, or a hot day in the Sun by one of its beautiful beaches.
But the island keeps its charm always, and even in winter season around here people certainly don't get bored.
At this time of the year the island is quiet and it shows its most authentic face, frequented almost exclusively by residents.
At the end of December, however, there is a return of tourism, attracted by the fact that some of the most famous clubs do not go on vacation or open for the new year's eve (and they know how to celebrate).
Consult the net to choose the night that suits you and not discard the idea of private parties, more intimate but equally entertaining.
Ibiza is a good idea for the new year then, but the holidays are also an opportunity to rediscover the island in its tranquillity and magic.
Firstly, its wild nature, wonderful and a little melancholic in these days.
And then many religious events and celebrations of Christmas.
Do not miss the Mercadillo di Las Dalias, one of the most famous in the world.
Located in San Carles, in one of the most beautiful and authentic in the North of the island, and this year celebrates its 30th anniversary.
It's open all year round but from 18 December to 5 January, its Christmas version will be on, indoor and in the evening (in the morning only on weekends).
Here you can fully taste the magical and joyful atmosphere that only this time of the year can give: crafts of the island and objects from around the world; local delicacies and a bit of wine to warm up; colors and lights. A must see!
A word of advice: during the holidays, consider the idea of using charter packages, valuable at a time when low cost flights are reduced.
