Fincas are the typical Ibiza houses, spread everywhere in the island countryside, where the majority of the population of Ibiza is traditionally engaged in the cultivation of land.

Fincas are rationally build around porxo, the main hall and entrance, around which a number of cubic rooms were added, as needed. Built with natural materials, its fundamental characteristics are thick walls to protect the interior from the heat, the small windows that do not let too much light in and especially the flashy white color. Outside wells and ovens still survive.

This ancient architecture has influenced the style of modern villas in Ibiza, born in large numbers in all island areas, often designed by architects of international fame.
The union between the typical white colour and wood, together with new peculiar elements: large windows for the exploitation of natural light and allowing to enjoy the beauty of the Mediterranean; outdoor areas with large swimming pools and landscaped gardens.
